The Art of Growth – Investing in Creativity and Culture at MoMac
At MoMac, creativity doesn’t just happen. It’s something we make space for.
Recently, our team took time out of a busy day to sit down with Scott McIntosh, a local artist and tattooist who’s on his own journey as a creative. We pulled up some chairs and bean bags, paused the day’s work, and listened as Scott shared his story. From working in construction to an injury that made him rethink his path, to finding new purpose in art and tattooing.
Scott spoke about stepping outside his comfort zone, backing himself, and starting to share his work publicly. Hearing his journey reminded us that creativity often comes from courage, from being willing to take a risk, face doubt, and keep going.
The session finished with the reveal of a commissioned artwork for our office. To everyone’s surprise, it featured Ryan McDonald, our founder. Scott’s interpretation of Ryan captured more than just an image. It reflected the spirit of MoMac.
Ryan started MoMac with a simple vision: to help businesses showcase themselves and tell their stories through creative and strategic marketing. What began as one person’s idea has evolved into the brand and team we have today, a group of people who share that same drive to grow, create, and keep improving.
Moments like this remind us why culture matters. Investing in creativity, whether through learning, sharing stories, or connecting with others, helps us all grow. It encourages our team to keep experimenting, to find new ways to tell stories, and to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
We like to think MoMac’s story, and our bold approach, has inspired other creatives and agencies too. We’ve always tried to lead by example, setting the pace for what’s possible in our industry. We’re not always on top, but we’re always evolving, refining, and striving to do the basics well.
We’re grateful to Scott for sharing his story and his art with us. It was a reminder that the creative journey is never finished, and that courage is often the first step toward something great.
Be Bold. Be Curious. Be Rebellious.
That’s the MoMac way.
