MoMac Attends Marketing South 2025

Attending the Marketing South 2025

Last week our team headed to the South Island’s premier marketing event, Marketing South 2025. It was our first time attending, and with more than 170 local marketers in the room, it proved to be a brilliant chance to learn, connect and see where the industry is heading.

Representing MoMac were Ryan, our Director, along with Talesha and Hanna from our digital marketing team, and Michael who leads our web development. Each of them brought a different lens to the sessions which made the whole experience even more valuable.

A look at the event

Marketing South has been running since 2018 and has earned a strong reputation for delivering practical insights with real impact. This year’s programme brought together some of the biggest topics shaping the future of marketing, from brand visibility in an AI driven landscape to the smart use of data, social media innovation and bold creative thinking. Across the day, the sessions sparked plenty of discussion among the team and highlighted how quickly the marketing world is evolving, with presenters offering honest, practical advice that could be applied straight away.

A moment with other Marketers

Being early birds, we arrived with enough time to enjoy proper barista coffees and chai lattes before the sessions kicked off. The catering throughout the day didn’t disappoint either. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea kept us well fed, and the breaks were a relaxed chance to chat with other attendees. We were seated alongside several marketers from across the South Island and it was genuinely great meeting them, swapping experiences and hearing how they’re tackling similar challenges.

What the team took away

For our digital marketers, the insights around AI search, content positioning and data led engagement were especially valuable. The event reinforced how quickly digital behaviour is shifting and highlighted opportunities for us to support clients with smarter, more future focused strategy.

For our web development lead, the conversations around AI assisted user journeys and evolving expectations for seamless online experiences provided plenty of inspiration for upcoming projects.

And for Ryan, seeing how businesses across the country are adapting to rapid change confirmed something we talk about often at MoMac. If you stay bold and curious, adaptable and keep learning, you’ll stay ahead.

Why this matters for our clients

Events like this strengthen the way we work. It challenges our thinking, exposes us to new tools and ideas, and reminds us that marketing never stands still. The trends discussed at Marketing South 2025 will play a growing role in how brands attract attention, build trust and convert customers in the months ahead.
