'The Game Show' Midwinter Work Do 2026

On Saturday 8 August, the MoMac team came together for our 2026 midwinter work do in Christchurch.

Around 16 team members attended, along with partners and members of our wider contract team. With approximately 22 people there in total, it was a great opportunity to step away from work, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate the people who contribute to MoMac.

Games and plenty of laughs at Serve Social

We started the evening at Serve Social with drinks and a game show.

The game show worked particularly well for a group of our size. It gave everyone a chance to test their knowledge, enjoy some friendly competition, and share plenty of laughs.

From there, we headed to Kaiser Brew Garden for dinner and another round of drinks. We enjoyed a selection of pizzas and starters, followed by a few more games. A round of Never Have I Ever brought out some good stories and created even more laughter around the table.

The night finished with a boogie at Fat Eddie’s, which has become something of a regular destination whenever the MoMac team heads out together.

Bringing our wider MoMac team together

Inviting partners to our team events has always been important to us.

Our partners are often the people supporting our team behind the scenes, so it is great to include them in these occasions. It gives everyone a chance to build stronger relationships outside the office, catch up with familiar faces, and welcome new partners into the wider MoMac group.

We also made sure that several of our long-term contractors could join us. Although they are not based within the business every day, they are valued members of our wider team and play an important role in the work we deliver.

Investing in the people behind MoMac

For MoMac Director Ryan McDonald, being able to organise events like this is both a privilege and an important investment in the team.

“I always looked forward to work events when I was younger and coming through different jobs. They created some of the best team memories and gave everyone something to talk about throughout the year.

“Being able to provide that experience for our own team is a real privilege. These events are our opportunity to give something back, bring partners and our wider team together, and show everyone how much we genuinely appreciate what they contribute to MoMac.

“I feel incredibly confident in the team we have today. They are a group of people we want to support, protect, and invest in. Putting on a great night is one small way we can thank them for everything they do.”

As a Christchurch creative agency, our work is built around collaboration. Strong relationships within our team help us work better together and support the consistent service we provide to our clients.

Team culture is not created through one event alone, but nights like this help strengthen it. They allow people to relax, connect outside their usual roles, and create shared memories.

Looking back through the photos, the amount of laughter says everything that needs to be said. It was a great night with a team we are very proud of.
