WordPress Web Developer | Fixed Term

WordPress Web Developer | Fixed Term

MoMac is looking for a practical, capable web developer to help build and update WordPress websites alongside our team.

You don’t need a degree or years of agency experience, but you do need working HTML and CSS knowledge and the ability to put it into practice. You should be comfortable inspecting a page, understanding how it’s structured, and fixing common styling and layout issues.

📍 Based in our Rangiora office. This is an in-office role.

📅 Initially fixed-term until the end of the 2026, with 20–40 hours per week depending on workload and your availability.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building and updating WordPress pages using WPBakery Page Builder.
  • Using HTML and CSS to adjust layouts and resolve issues within page builders.
  • Making content, image and styling updates across client websites.
  • Checking and improving layouts across desktop, tablet and mobile.
  • Troubleshooting common website issues.
  • Following project briefs, checking your work and documenting changes where needed.
  • Data entry jobs

The skills you’ll need

  • Practical HTML and CSS knowledge. You can read and edit HTML, use CSS selectors, and work with spacing, alignment, typography and responsive layouts.
  • Confidence using browser developer tools. You can open Inspect Element, identify the relevant element and styles, and test a fix.
  • Experience building websites. Personal, study, freelance or commercial projects all count, provided you can explain what you built yourself.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and a page builder. We mainly use WPBakery, but experience with Elementor or similar builders is welcome.
  • An eye for detail. You notice inconsistent spacing, incorrect links and layouts that don’t work on mobile.

How you work matters too

We’re looking for someone who listens carefully, picks things up quickly and can make meaningful progress on a task without needing every step explained.

You can take a brief, work through the parts you understand, and ask clear questions when you reach something unfamiliar. You apply feedback and use what you’ve learned on the next task.

We’ll provide guidance and help you learn our tools and processes. You should already be comfortable with the foundations of HTML and CSS before applying.

A good indication you’re ready

If we showed you a page with an off-centre button, too much spacing or a section overflowing on mobile, you would know how to start investigating it and could use HTML/CSS to make a fix.

Nice to have

  • Experience with WPBakery or the Salient theme.
  • Basic JavaScript or PHP knowledge.
  • Experience with WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Good email etiquette

How to apply

Send us:

  • A short introduction and your availability.
  • One or two websites or projects you’ve worked on, explaining what you personally built or changed.
  • Your experience with web technology, HTML/CSS, page builders, web design, etc

Shortlisted applicants will complete a short practical exercise using browser developer tools and HTML/CSS. We’re interested in how you approach a problem as well as the result.
