We’re looking for someone early in their web development journey who wants to gain hands-on experience building real websites and working alongside our team.
📍 This is an in-office role based at our Rangiora office. This is NOT a remote position.
📅 The role is initially for a 2-month fixed term, 20-40 hours a week depending on workload and your availability.
This is a junior/intern-level role, so we’re not expecting years of commercial experience. We’re looking for someone with a good understanding of the basics, solid computer skills, attention to detail, and most importantly, a willingness to learn.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting our team with building new WordPress websites
- Making content and layout updates to existing websites
- General website administration tasks
- Testing websites across desktop and mobile
- Helping troubleshoot basic website issues
- Creating and maintaining internal documentation
- Learning our tools, processes, and development workflow
What we’re looking for:
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
- Understanding of web fundamentals such as the box model, links, padding, margins, responsive layouts, etc.
- Good general computer literacy
- Comfortable working on a Mac
- Good written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and document your work
- Comfortable asking questions when you’re unsure
- Keen to learn and develop your skills
Nice to have, but not essential:
- Some familiarity with WordPress
- Experience with Google Workspace such as Gmail, Docs and Sheets
- Experience with page builders, themes or WordPress plugins
- Basic JavaScript or PHP knowledge
- Any personal, school or hobby websites you can show us
You do not need to tick every box.
If you’ve been learning web development, studying in the field, building websites as a hobby, or looking for an opportunity to get your foot in the door, we’d love to hear from you.
Send us a message with a little about yourself, what you’ve been learning, and any examples of websites or projects you’ve worked on. 👋
