MoMac Raises $1,794 for Rachel's House Trust at The Raine & Horne Big Splash

Community has always been at the heart of what we do at MoMac.

Whether it’s supporting local charities, sponsoring community events, or donating our time and services, we believe that strong businesses have an opportunity to help build stronger communities.

That commitment continued recently at this year’s Raine & Horne Big Splash, a community fundraiser supporting Rachel’s House Trust.

The event brought together 16 local contestants, businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters for an evening of fundraising, entertainment, and a very cold plunge into icy water. While the atmosphere was full of laughter, the purpose behind the event was an important one, raising funds to help Rachel’s House Trust continue supporting women, young parents, and whānau with young children throughout North Canterbury.

It All Started With a Challenge

Ryan’s involvement actually began with a challenge from within the team.

Following a recent MoMac team wellbeing session that included a cold plunge and sauna, Michelle from our Print Production team suggested it was Ryan’s turn to step up.

After encouraging everyone else to jump into cold water, there wasn’t much room to say no.

With a little help from our Lead Designer, Brad, the original race driver costume idea was replaced with something a little more memorable. Dressed in a Scottish outfit, complete with a wig and beard, Ryan took the plunge and represented MoMac on the night.

A Team Effort

While Ryan was the only one entering the water, the evening was very much a team effort.

Several members of the MoMac team attended the event alongside friends and supporters, enjoying a fantastic evening with many familiar faces from the local business community.

It was also a great opportunity to catch up with clients, sponsors, and community leaders, including Waimakariri Mayor Dan Gordon, while celebrating another event that showcased the generosity and spirit of North Canterbury.

As a Gold Sponsor, MoMac was proud to support the event through professional photography, videography, and a financial contribution to help make the evening possible.

$1,794 Raised

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our clients, friends, family, and wider community, Team MoMac raised $1,794, making us the third-highest fundraising team on the night.

A special thank you goes to everyone who donated, with particular thanks to Morel Construction, Linkworks, Wild Roots Wellness, Amberley Community Pre & Prep School, Leading Landscapes, The Delicious Market, along with the many friends, family members, and local businesses whose smaller donations all combined to make a significant impact.

Every donation, regardless of its size, helped contribute towards supporting local families.

Supporting Rachel’s House Trust

One of the most rewarding parts of the evening was hearing first-hand about the difference Rachel’s House Trust makes within our community.

The organisation provides practical support, guidance, and encouragement for women, young parents, and families with young children across North Canterbury. Hearing stories of the positive impact they have on local families was a reminder of why community fundraising events like The Big Splash matter so much.

Thank You

A huge thank you to Rachel’s House Trust, Ideal Events, Raine & Horne, the volunteers, sponsors, organisers, and every contestant who helped make the evening such a success.

While the overall fundraising goal is still being worked towards, seeing so many local people come together to support a worthy cause was something special to be part of.

For MoMac, 2026 has already been our biggest year yet for supporting local initiatives, community events, and sponsorships. We feel incredibly fortunate to be in a position where we can give back to the region that has supported us since day one.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event another great example of what can be achieved when a community comes together.
